About The Position

ZelTech is seeking a Sensor Operations Analyst to support the Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC) with monitoring and maintaining the United States Prompt Diagnostic System (USPDS), which falls under the National Technical Nuclear Forensics (NTNF) mission. The NTNF leverages AFTAC to detect, identify, and characterize nuclear events and to report nuclear forensic information to national authorities. The USPDS is a fully integrated, terrestrially based, geographically dispersed, centrally managed prompt detection and reporting system.

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must have an active TS/SCI clearance.
  • BA/BS degree and 5 to 8 years of relevant experience.
  • In lieu of degree, 9-12 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to write technical reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills, in addition to interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished orally or in writing.
  • Successful background and drug screening check.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze sensor trigger data; match findings to general sensor State of Health analysis.
  • Create initial historical record of sensor responses to respective fielded environments and emplacements.
  • Collect and analyze data and develop models, often using spreadsheets, databases and pragmatic, numerical approaches to solve problems.
  • Gather relevant hard and soft data from systems at various levels within the organization.
  • Analyze sensor State of Health trending data using structured Query language (SQL) scripts.
  • Use analytical methods, such as simulation, network analysis, decision analysis, multi-criteria analysis, scenario analysis, soft systems modelling, optimization, and queuing theory.
  • Write clear, concise reports of findings and creating and delivering presentations to clients, often requiring clear and persuasive explanation of complex processes to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Use toolkits,run interactive data language based tools against simulated sensor data.
  • Provide the ability to collect, process, transmit, and analyze forensic data phenomena.
  • Provide technical analytical support in the areas of speed of light (SOL) technologies (gamma, EMP, optical, and teller light).
  • Review daily data feeds for review to discern, identify, and document man-made phenomena verses naturally occurring phenomena.
  • Work with AFTAC Government operations and subject matter experts (SME’s) to understand background noise at sensor sites and their impact on data evaluation and review.
  • Document any state of health (SOH) issues with sensors, software or communication systems from an estimated 75 sensor locations.
  • Utilizing AFTAC provided templates, the analyst will document standard operating procedures, checklists, and concept of operations baselines and changes that occur as duties are refined.
