About The Position

$1,000 hiring bonus! Overnight, evening and weekend shifts available! As a Senior Youth Worker (facility based), you will provide support, basic needs, and encouragement to youth ages birth - 17 years of age and youth ages 16-24 experiencing homelessness. You will provide coverage to shelter/Transitional Living Program Thursdays-Sundays from 3pm - 11pm and/or 11pm - 7am each week. Youth Workers will provide a consistent, safe, and supportive culture for each individual within an environment where the population served may present with a high level of need. The population served may change quickly and within a single shift. In this role, you will develop positive relationships with youth to help them identify immediate needs and/or plan next steps towards stability and how to advance towards those steps. You will also respond to crisis and emergent needs of youth seeking shelter. Must be 21 years of age or older. Must be able to pass a DHS level background check. Must be able to pass a driver's eligibility check. Must work evenings, overnights and weekends. Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to pass a DHS level background check.
  • Must be able to pass a driver's eligibility check.
  • Must work evenings, overnights and weekends.
  • Some experience working with youth preferred but not required.
  • Experience with homeless, at-risk youth or children or youth who have been removed from their homes.
  • Effective working knowledge of positive youth development, harm reduction, and trauma-informed care preferred.
  • Training and competency may will be provided in the following areas (requirements based on program and licensing standards): Blood borne pathogens. Child safety restraints. Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI). Mandated reporting. CPR & first aid for infants, children, and adults. SUIDS and prevention of head trauma. Runaway prevention. Emergency policies and procedures. Gender-based needs. LGBTQ+ needs and resources.

Nice To Haves

  • Some experience working with youth preferred but not required.
