About The Position

This position is for a Senior Yocto Build Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Yocto/OpenEmbedded build systems for automotive and embedded Linux platforms. The role involves creating and optimizing layer stacks, recipes, machine configurations, distro policies, and image definitions. The engineer will also develop and maintain BSP integrations, SDK generation, and cross-toolchain setups. Collaboration with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable embedded build system improvements is key. The role drives architectural decisions for build reproducibility, layered customization, dependency management, and image composition strategies. Automation of build processes, management of build infrastructure, and implementation of security practices for embedded builds are also core responsibilities. The position ensures compliance with automotive industry standards and regulatory requirements, provides support for build-related incidents, and establishes build metrics. Optimization of Yocto build performance, integration with third-party vendors, and technical leadership are expected. This is a salary grade 8 position.
