About The Position

Seed Company is seeking a Senior Writer, Story & Editorial to create clear, compelling, and strategically aligned content across multiple platforms. This role will also serve as a project lead for select communications initiatives, ensuring organizational messaging, voice, and storytelling resonate with audiences and support strategic goals. The Senior Writer will guide content projects from concept to completion, coordinating cross-functional teams, managing timelines, and ensuring deliverables meet brand standards and project objectives.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, English, journalism, or related field.
  • 2-3 years of professional writing and/or editing experience in journalism, marketing, public relations, and/or advertising.
  • Proven writing, editing, and proofreading skills, producing polished, audience-focused content.
  • Experience adapting messaging for diverse audiences and platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
  • Ability to lead projects, coordinate teams, and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Exceptional command of language, storytelling, and persuasive writing.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to lead content initiatives effectively.
  • Curious, research-oriented, and able to synthesize information into engaging copy.
  • Collaborative mindset, team-focused, and proactive in achieving project goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Support the research, discovery, and organization of content assets for editorial and storytelling use.
  • Conduct content research, interviews, and field engagement to source authentic stories, context, and supporting material.
  • Contribute to the content archive by cataloging stories, quotes, photos, videos, interviews, and other assets with appropriate metadata and tags for retrieval and reuse.
  • Maintain editorial taxonomies, tagging systems, and content inventories to support efficient storytelling workflows and reduce duplication.
  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts, field teams, and program partners to gather credible information and source materials for current and future content projects.
  • Assist in maintaining the digital story management system, including archiving, tagging, and content governance practices.
  • Contribute to the ongoing refinement of internal storytelling processes, editorial calendars, and toolsets.
  • Ensure written deliverables align with editorial standards, brand guidelines, and organizational messaging priorities.
  • Develop written storytelling assets that support how audiences experience stories across channels, including speaker scripts, run-of-show documents, event and initiative framing, narrative arcs for live moments, promotional emails tied to events, event guides, and giving portfolios.
  • Provide stories and written content to support the Marketing team's needs across broad-based channels, including social media and the website.
  • Review content performance and audience engagement insights and apply learnings to refine storytelling formats and approaches.
  • Attend and participate in a variety of meetings and task force groups as directed and maintain the required level of knowledge pertaining to operating procedures, requirements, processes, and policies.
  • Lead and or participate in projects or task force groups that focus on issues having organization-wide impact.
  • Perform or assist with any assignments as required or directed.
