About The Position

Our client, a well-established insurance carrier, is seeking an experienced Senior Workers' Compensation Claims Examiner to join their growing Texas team. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of a dedicated lost time caseload while contributing to a carrier that continues to strengthen its footprint across the state. This individual will independently manage Texas Workers’ Compensation claims from inception through resolution, ensuring files are handled strategically, proactively, and in compliance with state regulations. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, sound reserving practices, and the ability to effectively communicate with injured workers, employers, defense counsel, and agency partners. This person will have the ability to work remotely.

Requirements

5 - 10+ years of Texas Workers’ Compensation Lost Time claims experience
Strong knowledge of Texas WC statutes, processes, and compliance requirements
Experience handling litigated claims independently
Active Texas Adjuster’s License (required)
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
High School Diploma required

Responsibilities

Oversee approximately 90–100 moderate to complex Texas lost time claims with autonomy
Conduct detailed investigations and coordinate appropriate medical management
Drive return-to-work initiatives and proactively move claims toward resolution
Manage litigated files, partnering closely with defense counsel
Establish and maintain accurate reserves based on claim exposure
Present high-exposure files to leadership and participate in claim review discussions
Support team development through mentorship and training involvement
Maintain consistent file quality and adhere to carrier best practices
