Senior Finishers are required to be familiar with different types of products related to the finishing process and apply lacquer, clear coats and finishes to finished wood product surfaces ensuring consistent application and coverage (applied via hand and/or spray equipment). As well as being capable of color matching. A Senior finisher will assign tasks and directives to Assistant Finishers and will be the primary point of contact for the Production Manager.

Requirements

  • Previous knowledge and/or experience in Millwork/Casework finishing.
  • Ability to make accurate measurements and finish materials to a high level of quality and precision.
  • Possess a positive and professional attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary contact for the Production Manager at the Finish Shop.
  • Lead and direct Assistant Finishers in daily duties.
  • Meet deadlines with minimal supervision; majority of time is spent at the Finishing Shop without immediate Manager/Supervisor being available.
  • Have the ability to mix finish ingredients and apply stain on veneers and hardwoods to obtain desired colors or shades.
  • Select appropriate finishing ingredients such as paint, stain, lacquer, depending on factors such as wood harness and surface type.
  • Capable of spraying sealers and top coats on wood products.
  • Ability to sand wood products by hand or with pneumatic sanders acceptable to receive stain and or finish.
  • Be knowledgeable in filling cracks, imperfections, or holes in wood products and prepare surface between coats for additional finishing.
  • Experienced in reading shop drawings; Know how to relate the elevations, plan views, and detail (section cut) views together in order to understand what the finished product will look like when completed.
  • Performs work in a productive, diligent, careful and safe manner.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a deadline orientated environment.
  • Maintain work area, organized and orderly, ensuring compliance with the company's safety and health regulations.
