About The Position

As a Senior WMS Engineer at DSV in Almelo, you will be responsible for transforming logistics processes into smart WMS solutions and seeing your work implemented on the warehouse floor. You will take the technical lead on projects, from initial customer discussions and application design through to go-live. This involves understanding customer and colleague needs, translating them into solutions for the new warehouse in Almelo and the Eastern Netherlands region. You will analyze entire process flows, clarify requirements and project scope, and translate process designs into functional and technical application designs within the CargoWrite WMS suite, utilizing Blue Yonder Dispatcher. You will collaborate closely with project managers, process engineers, IT teams, and customers, acting as a technical lead and a point of contact for colleagues, while directly contributing to building and testing solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor-level knowledge and skills, for example in logistics, supply chain or ICT.
  • At least 3 years of experience in WMS engineering or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of warehouse processes and SQL.
  • Experience configuring or implementing WMS systems.
  • Experience working with customers to define requirements and scope, asking probing questions and translating logistics needs into a suitable application design.
  • A good command of written and spoken English, preferably complemented by Dutch.
  • Ability to explain technical decisions clearly and take the technical lead.

  • Blue Yonder Dispatcher experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying customer needs and defining requirements and scope, looking across departments and assessing the impact on processes and systems.
  • Translating process flows into functional and technical application designs and building and configuring WMS solutions within CargoWrite.
  • Carrying out FAT testing and supporting system, integration and acceptance testing, customer implementations and go-lives.
  • Providing technical direction for WMS projects and changes, sharing expertise, and maintaining quality, documentation, and performance.
