About The Position
Overall Purpose of the Job: Carrying out fabrication, maintenance and welding repairs to equipment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years previous experience in similar role post mechanical apprenticeship or training.
- Experience of working to approved industry quality standards
- Knowledge and experience of appropriate international quality standards (e.g. ASME, AWS, API)
Responsibilities
- Ensure that the welding fabrication, maintenance, and repair of all equipment and peripherals is carried out safely, effectively and to required standards
- Complete all workscope in accordance with applicable workpack / jobcard instructions, associated procedures and drawings/sketches
- Determine required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques
- Observe tests on welded surfaces, such as hydrostatic, x-ray, and dimension tolerance to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications
- Analyse engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations
- Work with safety as a top priority in order to minimise accidents and incidents
- Lay out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications
