About The Position

As a Senior Web Developer at Atlantic.Net, you will help architect, build, and deliver systems that improve the feature set, reliability, scalability, and performance of Atlantic.Net’s Cloud. You will work with multiple teams and departments to support the company’s mission of simplifying cloud computing. The role involves working across technologies such as web, virtualization, containers, databases, storage, and security, and leading or contributing to projects that affect users around the world.

Requirements

• Passion for web or software design and programming, and for helping create Atlantic.Net’s future.
• A Computer Science degree or cumulative relevant experience.
• Expertise in at least one of the following languages: PHP, JavaScript, or Python.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely.
• Recognition of the importance of automation to scalability and reliability.
• Ability to define priorities and set appropriate expectations.
• Strong analytical, pattern-recognition, and troubleshooting skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience dealing with security in a hosting environment or distributed systems.
• Knowledge of containers, virtualization, monitoring, and debugging distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, deliver, and automate systems that improve the feature set, reliability, scalability, and performance of Atlantic.Net’s Cloud.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineering teams, development teams, and technical leads.
• Communicate objectives, results, and impactful changes clearly across engineering groups and other interested parties.
• Deliver innovative but simple solutions to develop and scale Atlantic.Net’s Cloud.
• Build and iterate scalable and efficient front-end interfaces and APIs from conception through production.
• Provide quality assurance testing for features and help ensure a smooth deployment process.
