Senior Web Developer – WordPress, Performance & Attribution
About The Position
This role is for a developer who wants ownership and direct impact. You will work directly with the founder, taking full responsibility for the website's performance, conversion, and ongoing development. The first major project is a ground-up rebuild of the company's WordPress site, focusing on performance, conversion, and a scalable component system. After launch, you will transition into ongoing ownership, managing website development, page speed, Cloudflare and WP Engine configurations, schema implementation, analytics and attribution, technical SEO, conversion rate optimization, and mobile-first/accessibility standards.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on web development experience.
- Deep WordPress and Elementor Pro fluency.
- PHP fluency (custom functions, custom post types, theme modification).
- Real Cloudflare and WP Engine experience (configuring cache rules, firewalls, staging environments, end-to-end production site management).
- Real attribution and analytics chops (GTM, GA4, conversion tracking across multiple ad platforms).
- Schema implementation expertise (JSON-LD, structured data testing, deployment, validation).
- Page speed obsession (ability to demonstrate specific optimizations and metrics).
- Site migration experience (led at least one full WordPress rebuild without losing rankings, conversions, or tracked attribution).
- Home services or local business website experience.
- Strong written English.
- Pacific Time Zone hours.
- Full-time availability and attention during business hours.
Responsibilities
- Leading the rebuild of the company website on WordPress, focusing on performance, conversion, and a scalable component system.
- Building and maintaining the WordPress site, shipping new landing pages, location pages, and service pages.
- Achieving and maintaining Page speed and Core Web Vitals targets (LCP, INP, CLS, PageSpeed scores).
- Managing Cloudflare and WP Engine configurations, including cache rules, page rules, security settings, and staging environments.
- Implementing JSON-LD schema across various types (LocalBusiness, Service, FAQPage, Review, BreadcrumbList).
- Managing Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Google Analytics 4 (GA4), including conversion tracking across multiple ad platforms.
- Ensuring a strong technical SEO foundation (sitemaps, robots.txt, crawl budget, canonicals, redirects, indexation, Search Console errors).
- Conducting continuous A/B testing for conversion rate optimization.
- Developing mobile-first and ensuring WCAG 2.1 AA compliance.
- Collaborating with the Senior SEO Specialist on technical implementation of strategy.
- Collaborating with the CMO and Founder.
