About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Wealth Planning Consultant in Wealth and Investment Management as part of Wells Fargo Advisors. In this role you will lead or participate in moderately complex wealth planning service initiatives and deliverables contributing to large-scale wealth and investment planning. You will review and analyze moderately complex business challenges that require in-depth research, evaluation of variable factors, and selection of alternatives related to risk deliverables within the Wealth Planning Consulting functional area. You will develop moderately complex comprehensive, integrated, and multigenerational wealth plans and planning strategies identifying opportunities for client retention and growth for Financial Advisors and clients. You will contribute to the resolution of moderately complex situations and partner with others to meet deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements within the Wealth Planning Consulting functional area. You will collaborate with Wealth and Brokerage colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, and mid-level managers including internal and external customers within the Wealth Planning Consulting functional area to resolve issues and achieve goals; may serve as a mentor for lower level staff.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of Wealth Planning or Financial Consulting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • US only: Successfully completed Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 7 and 66 (or 63 and 65) examinations (or FINRA recognized equivalents) sufficient to qualify for immediate FINRA registration
  • US Only: Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate FINRA license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position.
  • Compliance with state law registration and licensing requirements is mandatory.
  • In addition to state registration and licensing requirements, specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply.
  • Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards.
  • Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA licensing review process at the time of offer acceptance.
  • For specific FINRA qualification exams obtained after 9/30/2018, the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam co-requisite may also be required.
  • Specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities and/or personal investing; affected employees will be expected to provide information to the Wells Fargo Personal Account Dealing Team and abide by applicable policy requirements if hired.
  • This position is subject to FINRA background screening requirements. Candidates must successfully complete and pass a background check prior to hire.
  • In accordance with FINRA rules, individuals who are subject to statutory disqualification are not eligible to be associated with a FINRA-registered broker-dealer.
  • Successful candidates must also meet and comply with ongoing regulatory obligations, which include periodic screening and mandatory reporting of certain incidents.
  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional designations: Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or progress toward CFP strongly preferred.
  • Additional credentials such as CPA or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) are a plus.
  • Proficiency in advanced financial planning software and tools; deep knowledge of tax, estate, and retirement planning strategies.
  • Demonstrated success working with high-net-worth clients, including complex, multigenerational planning scenarios.
  • Ability to provide planning insights that materially impact client outcomes and support advisor business development.
