About The Position

Arcadis is looking for a Senior Water/Wastewater Conveyance Engineer to join their growing Resilience Water Team in Orlando or Jacksonville, Florida. This role provides rapid growth and development opportunities; collaborating with other experienced Water Professionals, the individual will support, manage, and drive development of projects, interact and work with clients, and develop technical and professional capabilities.

Requirements

  • 8 or more years of experience in engineering and consulting, primarily related to the municipal water market.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Florida or the ability to gain a license within 1 year of hiring.
  • Motivated self-starter with strong technical writing, presentation, and communication skills, capable of effectively conveying complex information in person, virtually, and through written communications.
  • Demonstrate strategic and analytical thinking when addressing technical challenges.
  • Proficient in relevant design and modeling software, with the ability to continually expand technical expertise and leverage software tools more effectively.
  • Ability to produce complex technical reports, provide guidance and direction to junior staff, and work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent time management and workload prioritization skills, enabling effective management of multiple responsibilities while meeting project deadlines.
  • Strong commitment to safety and a safety-first mindset are essential.
  • Functional experience with Microsoft Office applications is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with applications such as Bentley WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWater, and ArcGIS is preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in engineering and consulting, primarily focused on the municipal water market.
  • At least 2 years of experience working within the local Orlando or Jacksonville municipal water markets.
  • Project management experience is preferred.
  • A Master of Science or Master of Engineering degree in a related field is also preferred.
  • Demonstrate active participation in regional and/or national professional associations.
  • Hold NASSCO PACP, MACP, and/or LACP certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead tasks and projects from planning to design and construction of Water/Wastewater distribution/collection systems, pump/lift stations, and/or treatment plants.
  • Perform complex engineering analyses and design calculations.
  • Develop design and construction documents (i.e., reports, technical memoranda, specifications) and cost estimates.
  • Perform Hydrologic and Hydraulic modeling using a variety of software.
  • Use ArcGIS and/or AutoCAD.
  • Support construction administration of projects.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-discipline teams.
  • Serve as Project Manager (or Assistant Project Manager) on projects, based on experience.
  • Assist in the development of scopes of work and budgets.
  • Travel (up to 20%) may be required to conduct project site visits, client meetings, safety audits, general planning purposes or to oversee construction activities, depending on project staffing needs.
