Our Water Resources & Climate Change Department has an opportunity for a Senior Water Resources/Stormwater Engineer to bring their expertise and vision to our company. This position has the flexibility to be based in any of our offices including Halifax or Sydney, NS; Moncton, Fredericton, or Saint John, NB; St. John’s, NL; Charlottetown, PE; or Ottawa, ON, allowing you to choose the location that best suits your lifestyle. In this pivotal role, you’ll develop solutions to tackle critical water resources and stormwater management challenges. Whether you’re conducting flood and erosion studies, sewer system analysis, or developing solutions to key stormwater management challenges, your work will contribute to creating sustainable and resilient communities—both here in Canada and globally. Requirements

  • Undergraduate Degree in Civil, Water Resources, Environmental, or Coastal Engineering (equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered);
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in water resources or stormwater management;
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Canada;
  • Proven ability to lead projects (as a project manager or technical lead) and manage client relationships effectively in Atlantic Canada;
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools, such as PCSWMM, HEC, or equivalent software; and
  • A demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior team members while fostering a collaborative environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in engineering consulting, particularly in water resource and stormwater management projects in Atlantic Canada is considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex water resources and stormwater management projects involving flood studies, hydraulic structure assessment, design solutions, stormwater BMPs, and climate change assessments;
  • Provide advanced technical expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for urban infrastructure, transportation drainage systems, and floodplain mapping;
  • Develop innovative stormwater management strategies to mitigate flooding, protect the environment, and address climate resilience;
  • Prepare and oversee detailed project deliverables, including models/ designs, calculations, cost estimates, specifications, and contract documents;
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, high-quality solutions that meet client and regulatory requirements;
  • Foster client relationships by ensuring satisfaction, delivering project success, and maintaining trust as a senior advisor; and
  • Mentor and guide junior and intermediate team members, sharing expertise and fostering professional growth.
