We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to lead and support a diverse portfolio of water resources and land development projects in the Sacramento Valley and surrounding regions. This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer who enjoys hands‑on project involvement, mentoring staff, and working closely with municipalities and developers to deliver infrastructure that supports growing communities. The Senior Engineer will play a key role in project delivery, technical oversight, and client coordination, with opportunities to influence project direction and support the continued growth of water and land development practice.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • 8-12 years of industry experience with water resources and land development projects
  • PE license in California
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering principles, modeling tools, and design software (CAD)
  • Experience mentoring junior staff and guiding project teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication for technical documentation and client interaction
  • Ability to manage complex projects, budgets, and timelines
  • Analytical thinking and decision-making in both field and office settings

Nice To Haves

  • PLS or GE certification is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical design, modeling, and analysis for engineering projects
  • Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and reports
  • Oversee field investigations, data collection, and construction oversight
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules in collaboration with project managers
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and environmental regulations
  • Mentor junior engineers and support team development
  • Participate in client meetings and contribute to proposal and business development efforts
  • Primarily office-based with regular field visits
  • May involve travel to project sites and client meetings
  • Fieldwork may include exposure to varying weather and terrain conditions
