About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Water Market Leader to join our team in Austin, TX. This role involves providing water industry-leading knowledge and prominence to AtkinsRéalis business projects and initiatives, driving strategy for the water business with an emphasis on water infrastructure in the Greater Austin market, and developing and managing strategic relationships with key clients. The position also includes identifying and recruiting staff, supporting business development activities, serving as Project Manager for multiple projects, conducting contract negotiations, formulating innovative solutions, functioning as a subject matter expert and mentor, providing QA/QC and expert advice, working with external clients, preparing project work plans, developing project scopes, schedules, and budgets, preparing or overseeing final plans and design reports, and directing project teams while monitoring schedules, financial status, and quality control.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Engineering.
  • PE license in Texas is required.
  • At least 15 years of technical experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management including budget, schedule, and deliverable performance related to water/wastewater infrastructure projects including, but not limited to, treatment plants, distribution/collection system pipelines, green infrastructure, water supply systems, and related infrastructure.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated client relationship and business development skills.

Nice To Haves

  • MS or graduate-level technical coursework preferred.
  • Local experience with cities, counties, water authorities and regulatory agencies within the Greater Austin area is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide water industry-leading knowledge and prominence to AtkinsRéalis business projects and initiatives.
  • Drive strategy for the water business with an emphasis on water infrastructure in the Greater Austin market.
  • Develop and manage strategic relationships with key clients.
  • Identify and recruit staff critical to the growth and success of the firm.
  • Identify and support business development activities and proposal development.
  • Serve as Project Manager for multiple projects.
  • Conduct contract negotiations with clients and sub-consultants.
  • Support clients in formulating innovative solutions to drive project success.
  • Function as a subject matter expert and mentor to project teams.
  • Provide QA/QC functions and expert advice for complex projects.
  • Work with external clients at progress meetings and throughout contract engagements to meet client needs, project schedules, goals, and deadlines.
  • Prepare project work plans and develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
  • Prepare or oversee the preparation of final plans and design reports.
  • Direct project teams and monitor schedules, financial status of projects, and quality control on projects.
