About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking an experienced and highly capable senior-level engineer to design, build, and scale advanced Visual Studio Code extensions. The ideal candidate will operate independently to support complex developer workflows and influence technical direction while delivering high-impact tooling for developer communities. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity with a Global Financial Institution.

Requirements

• 8–10+ years of software engineering experience, with a proven track record of delivering production-grade developer tools or IDE extensions
• Deep expertise in VSCode Extension development, including publishing, versioning, and maintaining extensions at scale
• Strong programming proficiency in Python, Node.js, and C#
• Hands-on experience building extensions that integrate with custom source control systems, virtual file systems, and developer productivity workflows within IDE environments
• Solid understanding of VSCode architecture and internals, including extension APIs, workspace management, and performance considerations
• Demonstrated ability to design solutions that are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise development standards
• Strong problem-solving skills
