About The Position

Elluminates Software Corporation is seeking a full-time Senior VMware Engineer to support the Department of State (DOS) under the Vanguard 2025 contract. The program provides systems and security support for the DOS DT program, which delivers enterprise architecture, engineering, operations, and maintenance services across data center, desktop, server, network, firewall, communications, and enterprise application environments. The engineer will develop virtualization solutions using VMware and storage technologies, and research, evaluate, and integrate emerging technologies to deliver secure, cost-effective IT environments. The role also supports incorporating innovative technologies into the Department’s equipment modernization program. The position is hybrid, with three days onsite and two days remote during normal business hours, in Springfield, Virginia; Washington, DC; or Denver, Colorado. An active Secret clearance and ability to obtain Top Secret clearance are required.

Requirements

Senior-level knowledge of VMware and vSphere design, integration, and deployment.
Knowledge of or training in VMware and ESX 8.0+ deployment, configuration, and maintenance.
Windows engineering or administration experience, including Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), and PowerShell scripting.
Experience leading system integration projects as the technical lead.
Experience working with customers to capture and document requirements.
Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.
Bachelor of Science degree and 5+ years of related experience, or a master's degree and 3+ years of related experience; additional experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.

VCF9 experience.
Experience configuring VMware NSX.
LAN/WAN networking experience.
Familiarity with DOS processes.

Responsibilities

Execute duties as a member of the Infrastructure team.
Design, integrate, and deploy VMware IT solutions.
Rack and stack new data center equipment.
Work with the Networking team and configure virtual switching.
Provide operational engineering support to enterprise-level solutions using Cisco servers and NetApp storage.
Provision virtual machines and patches to the software and hardware hosting infrastructure.
Update system and process documentation, user guides, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
Research, analyze, evaluate, and integrate emerging technologies to deliver secure, cost-effective IT environments and support equipment modernization.
