About The Position

As a Senior Virtual Tax Advisor, you’ll be part of a growing team that provides expert tax preparation and personalized advice to clients who’ve started their returns with H&R Block. You’ll work remotely, using your tax expertise and communication skills to deliver an exceptional client experience - every time.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field - or equivalent experience
3+ years of hands-on tax preparation experience.
Strong knowledge of personal tax law, including complex scenarios (e.g., foreign income, rental properties, small businesses)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to analyze and resolve both routine and complex tax issues
Comfort working independently in a virtual environment
Certification Level 4 or higher (internal) or successful completion of the Tax Knowledge Assessment (external) and commitment to achieve the required certification level within 90 days
A quiet, dedicated workspace and reliable internet connection

Nice To Haves

Enrolled Agent (EA), CPA, or Attorney credentials
Experience with new software tools or participation in pilot programs

Responsibilities

Prepare and review individual tax returns using our secure virtual platform
Communicate with clients via secure messaging and phone to gather information and provide expert guidance
Analyze tax documents and ensure returns are accurate, complete, and compliant
Deliver timely, clear, and helpful responses to client inquiries
Research complex federal and state tax issues to support accurate filings
Collaborate with team members and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
Embrace new tools, technologies, and responsibilities as they evolve
