About The Position

The Senior Video Engineer is responsible for leading the video portion of the Production Team in their preparation and execution of live services. This position leads the technical production of the Calvary’s video needs.

Requirements

  • Conversant in MAC OS.
  • Must have working knowledge of live television production including camera operation, computer graphics, switching and routing, video production and camera controls.
  • Strong work ethic and servant’s heart.
  • Ability to learn quickly and increase knowledge of new skills, programs, and equipment for church productions.
  • Ability to quickly perform complicated tasks to a high quality while under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills with team and other departments.
  • Creativity and an eye for photography.
  • Knowledge of camera and lenses and workflow of digital SLR cameras.
  • Ability to organize and be prepared for live and field production.
  • Competent in computer-based editing, webcasting and podcasting.
  • Must call Calvary Church your home church and attend one weekend service per week.

Responsibilities

  • Set up/tear down/maintenance of video equipment; like cameras, transmitters, cables, and recording devices.
  • Understanding video signal flow across all campuses.
  • Maintenance of live production equipment, like video switcher, patch panel, and mobile video package.
  • Have knowledge to repair, replace, or upgrade video equipment, using research and communication with vendors.
  • Can operate any video position for services or events.
  • Can record and edit any project needed for church services or digital archival.
  • Set up cameras, capture devices, and computer equipment for venues on campus and multisite campuses.
  • Coordinate with vendors and guests for video use of Calvary venues.
  • Leads the Video Team members by managing training, timesheets, and individual performance reviews.
  • Coordinate video team during rehearsal and service.
  • Operate cameras, graphics computers or video switcher.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Lead training efforts of volunteers.
  • Communicate with other departments to accomplish service.
  • Plan, setup, and route all equipment needed for remote or on-campus events.
  • Operate cameras, computers and switcher for live events including: Easter Sunrise service, Freedom Celebration, Outdoor services, Concerts, Baptisms, Conferences, Weddings/Memorials.
  • Plan training, using MXU to create helpful training video playlists.
  • Oversee Video Team member’s timecards for approval and corrections.
  • Communicate Video Team member’s time off requests to the Production Coordinator for scheduling.
  • Be available to assist Production Coordinator in scheduling volunteers and team members.
  • Be attentive to team member adeptness and growth in order to complete a comprehensive yearly performance review for each.
