About The Position

The Senior Vice President, Representations & Warranties Insurance (RWI), is a senior producer responsible for originating new client relationships, expanding existing accounts, and leading the placement of transactional risk insurance solutions for mergers and acquisitions. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic business development plan focused on private equity sponsors, corporate acquirers, investment banks, law firms, and other transaction participants. The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial professional with a demonstrated track record of generating revenue, cultivating referral sources, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients throughout the transaction lifecycle. The SVP will play a leadership role within the RWI practice by helping drive business growth, mentoring junior professionals, strengthening insurer relationships, and contributing to the overall strategic direction of the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 8+ years of experience in transactional insurance, M&A advisory, corporate law, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success sourcing and developing client relationships.
  • Proven experience generating new business and managing revenue-producing accounts.
  • Strong network within the private equity, legal, investment banking, accounting, or corporate M&A community.
  • Experience advising clients on complex transactions and risk management solutions.
  • Exceptional business development and relationship management skills.
  • Strong sales and client-facing capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of M&A transactions, purchase agreements, indemnity structures, and transactional risk.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence senior decision-makers and serve as a trusted advisor.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Originate new business opportunities through direct prospecting, networking, referrals, and market engagement.
  • Build and maintain relationships with private equity firms, strategic buyers, family offices, legal advisors, investment banks, accounting firms, and other centers of influence.
  • Develop and execute a business plan designed to achieve individual and team revenue objectives.
  • Lead client meetings, presentations, and business development initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell Howden Private Capital's broader capabilities across transactional risk, tax insurance, private credit, and specialty insurance solutions.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of prospective opportunities and drive opportunities through successful placement.
  • Serve as the primary client relationship manager on complex transactional risk engagements.
  • Advise clients regarding risk allocation, indemnification structures, and insurance solutions in connection with M&A transactions.
  • Lead negotiations with insurers to secure optimal coverage, pricing, and policy terms.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, investment bankers, accountants, and other advisors to structure effective risk transfer solutions.
  • Provide strategic guidance throughout the transaction process from initial engagement through policy execution.
  • Develop and maintain senior-level relationships with insurance carriers and underwriting teams.
  • Represent the firm at industry conferences, private equity events, legal conferences, and market-facing engagements.
  • Establish a strong external presence within the transactional risk community.
  • Contribute to thought leadership initiatives and market education efforts.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging risks to identify new business opportunities and product solutions.
  • Mentor and support Analysts, Associates, AVPs, and Vice Presidents across the business.
  • Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and development of new team members.
  • Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing across offices and business lines.
  • Contribute to operational improvements and strategic growth initiatives within the RWI platform.
  • Assist with the preparation of marketing materials and client presentations.
  • Support thought leadership initiatives and conference preparation.
  • Help identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships and support cross-selling efforts across the broader transactional risk platform.
