The Public Sector Banking Group, within the firm’s Municipal Banking and Markets Group, provides on-balance-sheet financing solutions, including loans, letters of credit, and other credit products—to state and municipal clients, such as cities, counties, school districts, public universities, public utilities and transportation authorities. This role is primarily responsible for independently underwriting and structuring transactions; preparing and presenting credit packages for prospective opportunities; and evaluating clients’ credit quality, economic and sector conditions, repayment capacity, and key risks through quantitative and qualitative analysis. The role collaborates with Municipal Credit Officers, Risk Management, Investment Bankers, Client Managers, and clients, and works with external bank counsel to document transactions. Responsibilities also include ensuring compliance with credit policies, guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements; managing assigned portfolios; overseeing all related monitoring and administrative activities; and coaching and mentoring junior municipal credit employees.
