WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Vice President, Project & Program Management to work in Denver, Colorado.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • PE License
  • Extensive experience as a Program Manager overseeing CMGC and/or alternate delivery of highway/highway bridge improvement programs with construction costs exceeding $1 billion
  • 15+ years of relevant experience
  • Proven track record of client satisfaction providing Program Management Oversight services for similar toll road roadway improvement and renewal/replacement programs
  • Action oriented decision maker and creative/collaborative problem solver; able to adapt to issues as they arise and focus program team on progress
  • Ability to inspire team and build stakeholder trust
  • Manage challenging political dynamics with ability to recognize political influences on the program
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to deal with conflicts and to deliver hard news to stakeholders
  • Excellent computer skill - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Responsibilities

  • Serve in a Program Manager role overseeing on behalf of client the delivery of highway/highway bridge improvement projects delivered via CMGC or potentially various alternative delivery methods
  • Oversee the delivery of a program of multiple connected projects through the planning, design, construction and closeout phases
  • Develop Project Management Plans to include Program Controls, Document Control, Design Management, Risk Management, Safety Management, Quality Control, and Environmental Compliance
  • Manage the commercial interest of the client while driving on-time and on-budget program delivery
  • Responsible for independent review of program progress; perform schedule review and analysis
  • Provide solutions to project issues
  • Review and strategize improvement to key operational performance metrics
  • Support and empower staff and direct reports to execute project assignments on time and on budget
  • Develop and maintain relationships with public and private sector clients, agencies, partner firms and sub-consultants, contractors, as well as other external stakeholders such as vendors and suppliers.
  • Lead staff development which includes mentoring, training, coaching and professional development.
  • Accountable for overall management and successful execution of major programs within the transportation market, monitoring internal and external events, expenses, performance, and profitability.
  • Create a learning culture that values innovative subject matter expertise and fosters effective and continual personal development.
  • Develop and implement a communication strategy to increase the effectiveness of client/program management/CMGC team processes, systems, and practices, and mitigating risks.
  • Serve as program management discipline subject matter expert to a variety of internal / external entities including Federal, State, and Local Agencies, Clients, Subcontractors, industry-related groups, and various government and community entities.
  • Manage overall delivery team’s performance and provide inspiring leadership to assigned management and staff.
  • Develop extensive high-level business contacts and client base for providing program management services including identifying additional business development opportunities, and cross-selling of other WSP capabilities.
  • Collaborate with professionals and senior leadership from a variety of disciplines to provide future ready solutions for clients.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
