About The Position

The Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy (PICI) is radically changing the way cancer research is done. Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive fundraising and advancement experience, preferably within a leading academic medical center, cancer organization, research institution, foundation, or complex nonprofit
  • Demonstrated success securing transformational gifts of $1M+ and experience with $5M+ philanthropic commitments
  • Proven ability to personally cultivate and close significant individual and family philanthropy
  • Experience developing and executing comprehensive major and principal gifts strategies
  • Strong executive presence and demonstrated success partnering with CEOs, board members, scientists, clinicians, and other senior leaders
  • Experience building, leading, and developing high-performing fundraising teams
  • Exceptional relationship-building, communication, presentation, negotiation, and solicitation skills
  • Ability to translate complex scientific concepts into compelling philanthropic narratives
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, business acumen, accountability, and results orientation

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive individual philanthropy strategy aligned with PICI’s institutional priorities, with particular emphasis on transformational, major, and principal gifts of $1M+, and an emphasis on $5M–$25M+ opportunities
  • Personally cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of PICI’s most significant current and prospective donors, including individuals, families, and family foundations, developing strategies for multi-year, unrestricted, programmatic, and transformational commitments
  • Build a high-performing philanthropy program by establishing clear goals, metrics, and accountability, and strengthening prospect identification, qualification, moves management, solicitation planning, and stewardship
  • Partner with the Chief Advancement Officer to develop annual and multi-year revenue forecasts and strategies to achieve ambitious fundraising goals, and to build a pipeline that consistently advances donors toward meaningful philanthropic commitment
  • Serve as a trusted strategic partner to the CEO, Chief Advancement Officer, board, and senior leadership, and equip volunteer leaders and board members with compelling strategies and opportunities to advance philanthropy
  • Develop and activate high-level donor networks, ambassadors, and peer-to-peer fundraising relationships, working collaboratively across advancement, communications, events, scientific engagement, and program teams
  • Develop personalized cultivation and stewardship strategies for PICI’s highest-value donors, creating meaningful experiences that connect donors to PICI’s mission, people, and progress
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing, accountable philanthropy team and culture
