About The Position

The Senior Vice President, Loan Officer, plays a pivotal leadership role in driving the strategic growth and operational excellence of the loan portfolio within the organization. This position is responsible for overseeing the origination, underwriting, and closing of complex loan transactions while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in loan origination, underwriting, and portfolio management within the financial services industry.
• Proven track record of managing large loan portfolios and leading high-performing teams.
• Comprehensive knowledge of lending regulations, credit analysis, and risk management practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced analytical skills to assess creditworthiness and structure loan agreements that balance risk and profitability.
• Expertise in regulatory compliance.
• Relationship management skills are critical for building trust with clients and referral partners, which drives business growth and customer retention.
• Proficiency with financial software and data analysis tools supports informed decision-making and efficient portfolio management.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related advanced degree.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Commercial Loan Officer (CCLO) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
• Experience working within a national or multi-state financial institution.
• Demonstrated success in developing innovative loan products and strategies to meet evolving market demands.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the loan origination process, including evaluating loan applications, structuring loan terms, and ensuring timely approval and closing.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to grow the loan portfolio while maintaining high credit quality and adherence to risk management policies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, referral sources, and internal stakeholders to identify new business opportunities and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Oversee compliance with federal and state lending regulations, internal policies, and audit requirements to mitigate risk and ensure operational integrity.
• Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to loan officers and support staff to enhance team performance and professional development.
