About The Position

The Senior Vice President, Information Technology (SVP) leads and executes the technology function within the YMCA of Greater Brandywine's Strategy and Growth portfolio and reports to the Chief Strategy & Growth Officer. In partnership with executive, functional, and branch leaders, the SVP translates approved organizational priorities into a practical technology roadmap and reliable technology-enabled solutions. The role is accountable for operational excellence, cybersecurity, infrastructure, enterprise applications, data and analytics services, service delivery, systems integration, vendor management, and a high-performing, service-oriented IT team. The SVP maintains a comprehensive view of YGBW's applications, platforms, integrations, data sources, networks, devices, and technology vendors; administers consistent standards and processes; and ensures that the technology environment is secure, resilient, scalable, accessible, cost-effective, and responsive to the needs of members, program participants, donors, volunteers, employees, and communities.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, business, data, cybersecurity, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and significant relevant experience; master's degree or relevant executive-level certifications preferred.
Ten or more years of progressively responsible technology leadership experience, including technology planning and execution, people leadership, budgeting, vendor management, systems implementation, cybersecurity, service delivery, and organizational change; experience leading in a multi-site or complex service organization strongly preferred.
Demonstrated success developing and executing a multi-year technology roadmap in support of approved business strategy and measurable organizational outcomes.
Demonstrated strength in enterprise project and program management, including successful delivery of complex, cross-functional implementations involving business-process redesign, data, integrations, vendors, training, change management, and executive governance; PMP, PgMP, Prosci, or comparable credentials are desirable.
Experience leading enterprise platforms such as CRM, constituent or customer engagement, ERP/finance, HRIS, data and analytics, marketing automation, cloud productivity, and integration technologies.
Experience administering architecture and integration principles; evaluating build-versus-buy decisions; reducing technical debt; and implementing sustainable integrations across cloud, SaaS, data, identity, and legacy environments.
Working knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy frameworks, identity and access management, incident response, business continuity, disaster recovery, third-party risk, and regulatory or contractual compliance.
Demonstrated ability to establish data governance, improve data quality, and enable dashboards, reporting, segmentation, forecasting, and evidence-based decision-making.
Broad technical and operational fluency across enterprise applications, cloud services, infrastructure, networks, identity, cybersecurity, data, integrations, devices, and service management, with the ability to ask the right questions, evaluate technical recommendations, and contribute directly to the resolution of complex or high-risk issues.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Partner with the Chief Strategy & Growth Officer and executive leadership to assess technology opportunities, risks, emerging trends, and investment options that support approved business and mission objectives.
Develop, recommend, and maintain a three- to five-year technology roadmap, in partnership with the Chief Strategy & Growth Officer and executive leadership, aligned with approved strategic priorities, financial plans, growth targets, service expansion, and operating needs.
Administer and continuously improve technology governance processes that clarify decision rights, manage demand, support business-case evaluation, coordinate the project portfolio, and track value realization.
Manage and enforce approved standards, policies, and processes for architecture, integration, interoperability, lifecycle management, accessibility, procurement, documentation, and responsible technology use.
Maintain an authoritative enterprise application and systems portfolio, including ownership, purpose, users, integrations, data classification, cost, contract terms, risk, support model, business criticality, and lifecycle status.
Manage application rationalization and shadow IT consolidation, reducing unnecessary duplication and ensuring that technology acquisitions and deployments follow approved review, security, data, integration, procurement, and support processes.
Partner with executive and branch leaders to redesign processes and ensure that technology investments solve meaningful business and community needs rather than automate inefficient practices.
Lead a two-pillar IT department through the Senior Director, Information Technology and the Director, IT Systems & Analytics, establishing clear decision rights, service expectations, handoffs, shared priorities, and accountability across infrastructure and business systems.
Through the Senior Director, Information Technology, ensure effective leadership of endpoint and device management; application and network engineering; audiovisual support; onsite branch technology support; Level 1 help desk services; infrastructure operations; and escalation management.
Through the Director, IT Systems & Analytics, ensure effective leadership of Salesforce administration; data and account management; data entry and quality operations; reporting and analytics; database and SQL capability; integrations; and workflow automation.
Ensure the Technology Specialist role is positioned to provide responsive onsite support across branches, with particular accessibility to the Jennersville area, and possesses the audiovisual and customer-service capabilities needed for branch operations and events.
Ensure the Data & Reporting Analyst role provides database, SQL query, reporting, analytics, and automation capability while creating appropriate backup capacity and continuity for the Director, IT Systems & Analytics.
Use cross-training, documentation, succession planning, and shared operating procedures to reduce key-person dependencies and create reliable coverage across infrastructure, applications, data, reporting, and support.
Model a player-coach leadership approach by remaining accessible to the IT team, providing practical guidance on difficult problems, and stepping directly into high-impact situations when additional technical leadership, senior-level authority, or cross-functional coordination is needed.
Partner with business and functional leaders to implement approved digital transformation initiatives across membership, programs, childcare, philanthropy, marketing, health strategies, finance, human resources, facilities, and branch operations.
Lead the implementation, operational optimization, and support of Traction Rec, Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, and related platforms, ensuring adoption, data quality, integration, user-centered workflows, and measurable return on investment.
Enable approved omnichannel initiatives that connect web, mobile, email, contact center, in-branch, and community touchpoints and support personalized engagement across the constituent lifecycle.
Identify opportunities for automation, artificial intelligence, self-service, and workflow modernization while establishing appropriate safeguards, human oversight, equity considerations, and change-management plans.
Develop outcome measures for digital initiatives, including adoption, satisfaction, conversion, retention, productivity, service quality, and financial impact.
Administer data governance standards and processes, in partnership with business data owners, including stewardship, definitions, quality, access controls, retention, privacy, and ethical use.
Partner with strategy, finance, membership, programs, marketing, philanthropy, and operations to build a reliable enterprise data model and a trusted source of organizational performance information.
Expand self-service analytics, executive dashboards, forecasting, segmentation, market intelligence, and predictive insight while ensuring that metrics are consistent and decision-ready.
Develop and oversee a responsible AI framework addressing approved use cases, data protection, bias, transparency, vendor risk, intellectual property, staff training, and monitoring.
Strengthen YGBW's ability to measure community reach, equitable access, program outcomes, household engagement, lifetime value, and progress against strategic priorities.
Direct and manage YGBW's cybersecurity and technology risk program, using a recognized framework and a risk-based roadmap appropriate for a multi-site nonprofit organization.
Maintain policies, controls, training, testing, and incident-response protocols that protect constituent, employee, donor, payment, health-related, and organizational information.
Ensure strong identity and access management, endpoint and network security, vulnerability management, security monitoring, vendor risk management, backup, recovery, and cyber insurance readiness.
Maintain and regularly test business continuity, disaster recovery, incident response, and crisis communication plans in partnership with operational and executive leaders.
Provide clear reporting to the Chief Strategy & Growth Officer and executive leadership on risk posture, material incidents, remediation progress, resilience, and compliance obligations.
Provide senior and operational leadership during significant cybersecurity events, technology outages, data incidents, and business disruptions, ensuring clear decision-making, coordinated response, timely communication, appropriate escalation, and effective follow-through.
Ensure the reliability, performance, security, scalability, and lifecycle management of networks, cloud services, devices, applications, telecommunications, identity platforms, and branch technology.
Establish service-management practices, service-level expectations, escalation paths, asset management, knowledge management, and performance reporting that deliver responsive and consistent support.
Maintain architecture and integration standards and plans that reduce duplication, technical debt, manual work, and disconnected data while supporting approved growth and partnership initiatives.
Balance innovation with disciplined operational management, ensuring that upgrades, maintenance, patches, licensing, backups, and end-of-life transitions occur proactively.
Champion accessibility, usability, and inclusive design across employee-facing and constituent-facing technology.
Develop and manage the technology operating budget, capital plan, forecasts, and total cost of ownership within YGBW's established planning and approval processes across hardware, software, services, staffing, cybersecurity, data, and transformation initiatives.
Prepare rigorous business cases and benefits-realization plans for leadership review, connecting proposed technology spending to mission impact, revenue, risk reduction, experience, efficiency, and capacity.
Lead vendor selection, contracting, negotiation, performance management, renewal decisions, and exit planning in partnership with Finance, Legal, Risk, and Procurement stakeholders.
Identify opportunities to consolidate platforms, optimize licensing, reduce avoidable cost, and reinvest savings in strategic capabilities.
Maintain transparent portfolio reporting on scope, schedule, budget, dependencies, risk, adoption, and outcomes.
Administer disciplined technology project and program management practices, including charters, requirements, resourcing, milestones, decision logs, risk and issue management, change control, testing, implementation readiness, adoption, and post-implementation review.
Lead delivery and provide quality assurance, in partnership with the Chief Strategy & Growth Officer and business sponsors, for YGBW's highest-risk, highest-value, and most cross-functional technology initiatives.
Recommend technology priorities within YGBW's planning and approval processes by balancing mission impact, organizational capacity, risk, cost, urgency, and long-term sustainability.
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing IT and systems team with clear roles, measurable goals, succession plans, and a strong culture of accountability, curiosity, collaboration, and service.
Build appropriate internal capabilities while using external partners strategically; ensure institutional knowledge, documentation, and decision authority remain within YGBW.
Partner with business sponsors to manage organizational change for major technology initiatives, including stakeholder engagement, communication, training, readiness, adoption, reinforcement, and post-launch improvement.
Develop digital fluency across the organization and help leaders understand how to use technology and data responsibly to improve performance and community impact.
Foster productive relationships across branches and departments, listen to operational realities, and translate diverse needs into scalable enterprise solutions.
Establish regular engagement with branch and functional leaders to understand operational needs, review service performance, identify emerging risks and opportunities, and maintain alignment on technology priorities.
