About The Position

Green Infrastructure Partners is seeking an accomplished and influential leader to serve as Senior Vice President, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), a critical executive leadership role responsible for shaping and advancing the organization's enterprise-wide HSE strategy. The successful candidate will maintain a visible presence across operations, balancing executive leadership responsibilities with active engagement alongside operational leaders and frontline teams to ensure health, safety, and environmental priorities are embedded into decision-making, accountability, and day-to-day operations across the business. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of leading transformation initiatives. They will combine strong business acumen with exceptional leadership capabilities, translating data and insights into meaningful business outcomes while helping to position Green Infrastructure Partners as an industry leader in health, safety, and environmental performance.

Requirements

20+ years of progressive leadership experience within construction, infrastructure, industrial, manufacturing, utilities, mining, energy, transportation, or other complex, asset-intensive and highly regulated environments.
Significant experience leading enterprise-wide health, safety, environmental, risk, operational excellence, or related functions across complex, geographically dispersed operations.
Proven ability to develop and execute enterprise-wide strategies, transformation initiatives, and governance frameworks across national or multi-regional operations, including experience supporting organizational growth through acquisitions, integrations, and large-scale change initiatives.
Strong business acumen with the ability to translate data, trends, and operational insights into meaningful business outcomes and risk-management strategies.
Experience building executive-level reporting capabilities that support strategic decision-making and organizational accountability.
A recognized degree, diploma, or certification in Health & Safety Management (e.g., CRSP, CSP, NCSO, or equivalent).
Exceptional knowledge of federal and provincial safety regulations, accident investigation methodologies, workers’ compensation management, and environmental compliance requirements.
Experience leveraging analytics, leading indicators, and performance data to proactively manage risk and improve organizational performance.
Ability to engage and influence executive leadership teams, regulators, customers, and other key external stakeholders.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, from field staff to executive leadership and Boards of Directors.
Demonstrated success transforming and elevating enterprise HSE functions within high-growth, entrepreneurial organizations, with the ability to build scalable capabilities, strengthen accountability, and support evolving business needs through a growth-oriented and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

Build a data supported and evidence based corporate HSE strategy, including the rollout of comprehensive plans, policies, programs, and standards across the organization.
Build strategic enterprise capability that supports growth, risk management, operational excellence, and long-term value creation.
Proactively seek innovation and new technological approaches to ensure the workforce remains safe from evolving workplace hazards.
Develop annual HSE corporate goals and key performance indicators (KPIs), driving continuous improvement projects that align with business growth.
Integrate HSE performance measures into enterprise scorecards, operational performance metrics, and executive reporting processes to support data-driven decision-making and accountability.
Lead the integration of HSE protocols for new business acquisitions and joint ventures (JVs), ensuring operational and procedural consistency.
Provide strategic direction to Senior Operational Leads, ensuring all projects comply with applicable federal, provincial, and state regulations.
Oversee all technical training activities, ensuring specialized safety education is conducted at all sites in accordance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
Implement a risk-management approach for developing corporate standards, ensuring consistent application across multiple regions.
Leverage predictive analytics, trend analysis, and leading indicators to proactively identify risks, strengthen controls, and improve organizational performance.
Review critical accident investigation reports and provide executive oversight for the investigation process and corrective action implementation.
Ensure high-level health and safety audits are conducted at the corporate, office, and project levels to verify adherence to internal and external requirements.
Oversee the management of worker claims and workers’ compensation matters, ensuring they are handled according to legislation and corporate policies.
Develop and deliver executive- and Board-level reporting that provides meaningful insights into organizational risk, performance trends, compliance, and strategic priorities.
Act as the primary liaison with community and regulatory organizations, representing the company on external associations and industry committees.
Monitor and respond to legislative changes in occupational health, safety, and environmental law to maintain the organization's audit-ready status.
Manage and mentor a national HSE team, focusing on talent development and succession planning.
Champion a culture of safety excellence, ensuring that all supervisors and employees are empowered with the training necessary to manage HSE programs effectively.
Drive performance improvements aimed at significantly reducing Lost Time Injuries (LTIs) and other key safety incidents.
