About The Position

Citco is a market leader in the asset servicing sector, pioneering innovation and expansion since 1948. The Fund Administration business line is core to Citco, offering respected alternative asset and accounting services. This role is responsible for leading the fund accounting and operations team for the North America Real Estate/Real Assets line of business. The position requires active participation in private real estate organizations to provide industry and technical accounting knowledge. Collaboration with Business Development, Executive Relationship Managers, and Senior Management is expected for marketing pitches and client presentations. The role involves developing operating plans, assessing client needs, securing resources, and selecting appropriate technology solutions. Ensuring services meet KPIs, service level agreements, fund PPMs, accounting guidance, and regulatory requirements is crucial, including monitoring deliverables and approving requests. The role also assists with onboarding and transition plans, coordinates staffing, hiring, training, and development for FA and SSC related to clients, participates in Risk and Quality assurance programs for Real Estate, and contributes to SOC 1 audits.

Requirements

  • Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • 15+ years of fund accounting experience
  • At least 5 to 10 years in real estate investment accounting
  • Demonstrated skills in disseminating partnership agreements and fund documents
  • Experience with fee structures including promotes and incentive fees
  • Proficiency with producing NAV packages, performance returns and financial reports
  • Experience with managing client relationships
  • Strong knowledge of real estate fund structures, fund types, and asset operations
  • Familiarity with investment accounting rules and standards
  • Keen understanding of applicable tax reporting and regulatory requirements within North America
  • Ability to review contracts
  • Understanding of business planning, budgeting, and managing PandL
  • Experience in developing, implementing, optimizing business processes in the real estate investments funds space
  • Strong management skills and experience overseeing a group of investment and asset-level accountants
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • CPA, MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Familiarity with Yardi is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading the fund accounting and operations team for the North America Real Estate/Real Assets line of business
  • Provide real estate industry and technical accounting knowledge and expertise internally and to clients
  • Work closely with Business Development, Executive Relationship Managers and Senior Management teams on marketing pitches and other client presentations
  • Responsible for developing operating plans including; assessing client fund servicing needs, securing adequate resources to service the account, and selecting the technology solutions best suited for the service
  • Ensure services are delivered in accordance with KPIs and service level agreements, fund PPMs, authoritative accounting guidance and regulatory requirements, including monitoring the timing and quality of client deliverables, approve ad hoc client requests
  • Assist with the development of on-boarding and transition plans for new client integration
  • Coordinate and oversee staffing, hiring, training and development of staff for FA and SSC related to your clients
  • Participate in Risk and Quality assurance programs specific to Real Estate offering
  • Contribute to SOC 1 audits for North America
