About The Position

The Bank of New York Mellon seeks a Senior Vice President, Back-End Engineer in New York, NY, to consult with internal business groups to provide high-level application software development services or technical support for backed features and components. This role involves scaling the backend architecture and codebase to support growth, evaluating compliance with the organization's technology standards, and programming well-designed, testable, efficient code. The engineer will analyze, design, and develop tests and test-automation suites, create flowcharts, layouts, and documentation, and maintain software functionality and currency. Responsibilities include integrating software components, applying security and privacy principles, and working with business groups on implementation opportunities and requirements. The role also involves analyzing information and providing recommendations, guiding IT management on emerging technologies, and participating in defining integration strategies. Continuous learning through tools like Pluralsight and staying abreast of emerging technologies are expected, along with advocating for innovative solutions. Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field, and nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.
Nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience with designing, developing, implementing, and analyzing software applications in the financial or banking domains using Java/J2EE technologies and UI technologies.
Nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience with developing, modifying, and enhancing software architecture using REST, Web Services, Cache Frameworks, and Event Driven Frameworks.
Nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience utilizing Junit to write test plans, test cases, and perform unit regression testing.
Nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience conducting operating problem troubleshooting using Jira, Agile methodology Scrum.
Nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience optimizing application performance using Multithreading concepts and debugging tools including Eclipse, Log4j & AppDynamics.
The employer will accept three (3) years of university-level studies plus two (2) years of experience in meeting the Bachelor's degree requirement.

Responsibilities

Advocate for innovative, creative technology solutions.
