About The Position

Pershing LLC seeks a Senior Vice President, Application Development Manager in Jersey City, NJ, to perform all phases of the systems development and implementation process. This role involves providing analysis, design, development, testing, and ongoing support for client area application systems across diverse platforms, environments, software, hardware, technology, and tools. The position requires analyzing organizational needs for application development and interfacing with clients to ensure systems meet business requirements. Responsibilities include performing applications programming and analysis projects, developing, installing, and maintaining application programs, and analyzing organizational needs for development and implementation of applications. Regular interface with clients and project managers is expected to ensure systems are developed to meet business needs and specifications. The role also involves ensuring the availability, integrity, and stability of production systems by identifying appropriate resources and establishing processes for rapid problem response. Communication and endorsement of strict adherence to development and quality standards, monitoring adherence, and timely, accurate communication of project-related information are key. The position acts as an advocate for change management, encouraging innovation and creativity in technology solutions. Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered, or in a related IT occupation in the financial services industry.
Performing Brokerage and Trust Accounting including Clearance, Custody and Settlement processing, Order, Trading, and Bookkeeping transactions for various trading accounts including Cash, Margin, Short, COD, IRA, Retirement Solutions, and Principal and Income accounting.
Utilizing Investor Communication products that include Confirmations, Statements, and Tax Documents for Retail and Institutional Investors, and performing trust accounting using GlobalPlus integration and processing.
Simplifying software container orchestration within the architecture using Kubernetes, and the Kubernetes building blocks to test cloud native applications, and deploying and troubleshooting a stand-alone application.
Using Opentext’s Extreme product to compose documents in IBM’s Advanced Function Presentation (AFP), and designing, deploying, and troubleshooting complex documents including brokerage statements on both Exstream mainframe and cloud platform.
Performing Agile Development as well as implementations in COBOL/CICS and enterprise development in Python, JAVA, and Angular framework to integrate with various vendor and third-party products.

Ensure the availability, integrity and stability of production systems by identifying appropriate resources to manage all systems and having a process in place to respond quickly to problems.
Communicate and endorse strict adherence to development and quality standards and monitors adherence on an on-going basis.
Communicate timely and accurate project-related information to relevant parties.
Act as an advocate for change management, encourages innovation and creativity in technology solutions.
