Urgent Care Senior Veterinary Assistant
About The Position
UrgentVet bridges the gap between daytime general practice and emergency or overnight care, providing after-hours care for canine and feline patients. Its paperless clinics handle common urgent cases and are equipped with cloud-based electronic medical records, digital X-ray, and IDEXX in-house laboratory equipment. The Senior Veterinary Assistant helps provide patient care, team leadership, and client service in a fast-paced urgent care clinic. The role requires regular on-site attendance to support patient care, timely clinical needs, team collaboration, and the safety and well-being of patients, clients, and staff. Requirements
- Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, positive communication, and the ability to multitask in a hands-on environment.
- Have a strong work ethic and social and organizational skills, and be comfortable working with people and pets.
- Be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Full-time employees may be required to travel for on-site training and onboarding.
- Have prior customer service experience.
- Have prior experience working with animals in a hospital setting.
- Be able to lift 40 pounds.
- Have animal-handling experience, including patient restraint, sample collection, and monitoring.
- Have clinical skills including phlebotomy, catheter placement, laboratory analysis, and drug calculation.
- Be able to work on-site regularly.
