About The Position

The Senior VDC Engineer will be responsible for providing models and documents necessary to complete scope as determined with VDC/BIM leadership and project teams. This role involves assembling 3D content modeled by others and modeling any content not provided. The engineer will learn and independently maintain a productive and efficient BIM process, create and maintain clear and effective project documentation, and facilitate meetings for coordination of construction and design disciplines. Additionally, the Senior VDC Engineer will provide BIM technical support and training to internal project teams, support operations with the RFI or change order process for BIM related items, and maintain working relationships with subcontractors and project teams. The role requires assuming responsibility for learning VDC processes and standards and applying them to assigned projects. Creating and updating 4D schedules for construction model coordination, progress tracking, and milestone management is a key responsibility. The engineer will also leverage the construction model for staging and onsite logistics, read and comprehend construction documents and project BIM requirements, review shop drawings with the construction model for accuracy, and coordinate with other disciplines. Incorporating design updates into project models, analyzing construction documents and models for errors and omissions, and supporting operations with self-perform model management and layout are also part of the role. Communicating VDC related project constraints to supervisors and project teams in a timely manner is essential. The position offers exposure to cross-functional workflows, complex VDC delivery strategies, field layout processes, and self-perform VDC processes. Training project teams on BIM tool utilization and aligning owner requirements with BIM execution plans are also key aspects of the role.
