What impact you'll make As a Senior Value Engineer in the Direct Air Capture NPI Engineering team, you will be an active contributor to driving cost optimization and value engineering initiatives for first-of-a-kind carbon removal systems and establishing scalable, repeatable design standards that enable commercial viability of DAC technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related technical discipline with 10+ years of value engineering or cost optimization experience
  • Extensive experience in industrial equipment design, manufacturing cost analysis, and value engineering methodologies
  • Demonstrated track record leading cost reduction initiatives and achieving measurable cost savings in complex engineering projects
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in cost modeling, financial analysis, and data-driven decision making

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with carbon capture, clean energy technologies, or process industries such as chemical, petrochemical, or power generation
  • Expertise in modular design approaches, skid-based systems, or repeatable industrial products
  • Experience in NPI, product development, or early-stage technology commercialization environments
  • Demonstrated success in cross-functional leadership and influencing technical decisions across multiple engineering disciplines
  • Experience with design-to-cost methodologies, supplier development, and supply chain optimization
  • A background in startup-like environments with ability to drive results in fast-paced, resource-constrained settings
  • Advanced degree in Engineering, MBA, or professional certification in value engineering

Responsibilities

  • Lead comprehensive value engineering studies and cost optimization initiatives across DAC system designs and manufacturing processes
  • Develop and implement standardized design building blocks and modular approaches for repeatable DAC components including capture modules, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, piping, and structural components.
  • Analyze system architectures and equipment selections to identify cost reduction opportunities in materials, manufacturing methods, and installation approaches
  • Collaborate with vendors and engineering teams to balance technical performance requirements with cost targets and commercial viability constraints
  • Establish value engineering methodologies and best practices specific to DAC technology development and deployment
  • Drive cross-functional cost reduction workshops and facilitate value engineering sessions with mechanical, electrical, controls, and process engineering teams
  • Develop cost models and life-cycle analyses to evaluate design alternatives and support business case development for DAC products
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for cost reduction and performance improvement in carbon capture systems
