Senior UXUI Designer
About The Position
Machobear Studios is an established tech start-up based in Vancouver. We are the creators of liv.rent, a platform that connects tenants with landlords. In addition to developing and maintaining our platform, we work on a variety of exciting projects for our clients within the real estate and food industries, providing innovative tech and marketing solutions that meet their unique needs. Join our team as our next Senior UXUI Designer. We are looking for someone with a strong background in crafting intuitive solutions for web platforms and applications. You’ll do well in this position if you are a problem solver, adaptable, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have strong communication skills.
Requirements
- 4+ years of UXUI Design experience
- Strong visual design skills with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, functional and visually engaging designs
- Proficiency in Figma or similar design tools such as Sketch or Adobe XD
- Ability to iterate designs and solutions efficiently, with strong attention to detail and eye for design
- Deep understanding of visual design principles and best practices (layout, colour theory, typography, etc)
- Demonstrated experience in taking ownership of product features from conception to development and beyond
- Familiarity in implementing web accessibility standards and following WCAG guidelines
- Experience with responsive design and ensuring that websites adapt to different devices
- Understanding user needs, behaviours and preferences
- Strong ability to analyze and interpret user data from Google Analytics, usability testing, and other research methods to inform design decisions
- Familiarity with PostHog or similar product analytics tools to track user behavior and identify key opportunities for improvement
- Proven experience conducting A/B testing and data-driven designs to optimize user engagement, conversion rates, and overall UX performance
- Experience in developing and maintaining design systems
- Experience using AI tools for ideation, copy generation, visual exploration, or similar
Nice To Haves
- Experience designing solutions for e-commerce and checkout flows
- Basic knowledge of frontend development (HTML, CSS, JS)
- Experience with Webflow or similar website builder tools such as Framer
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on product goals and deliverables
- Address design challenges with intuitive solutions that balance user needs, technical limitations and business goals
- Develop visually compelling designs that align with the brand's identity and enhance the overall user experience
- Contribute to the design and maintenance of design systems to ensure consistency across all products
- Adopt and execute various rapid prototyping methodologies
- Communicate with stakeholders and clients on product design development
- Research, implement and share best design and development practices with the team
- Conduct user research, competitive analysis, and market research to analyze insights and use data to inform design decisions
