About The Position

As a Senior UX Researcher within our Enterprise UX Team , you’ll be at the forefront of Target’s evolving digital experience, shaping it for our guests and team members and contributing to business growth. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and synthesizing research to create actionable insights for the cross functional product development team. You will translate research data into powerful stories that help shape Target’s products. This role is a key partner to several functions including product managers, UX designers, engineers, data scientists, content designers, accessibility consultants, and site merchandisers. As one of the founding researchers on our newly formed Commercial Merchandising UX Research Team, y ou’ll be working on the product lifecycle experience to create a connected product & guest experience for Target’s Owned Brands. You will help evolv e Target’s digital experience supporting our vendor partners; shaping it with ease, simplicity and growth for businesses to sell their products with Target. You’ll use tried and true research methodologies utilizing human centered design thinking to deepen our understanding of vendors’ experience, needs, and pain points with a focus on the end-to-end experience. As part of a cross functional team, you will help develop new ways of how we onboard, engage, and support the products w e sell. As a member of the team, you will contribute to advancing the broader practice of UX at Target through influence, impact, and craft, while also educating cross-functional teams when needed. Requirements

  • Preferred 4-year degree in Anthropology, Social Science, Design Research, Psychology, Human Factors, HCI, or related field.
  • Experience in UX Research methods, including remote moderated & unmoderated testing, online & in-context (store) intercepts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to cross functional partners
  • Genuine curiosity about people and experiences
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable speaking to a diverse group of people and leading conversations to discover research insights
  • A strong ability to tell compelling stories from data
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and the ability to prioritize; demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects (both small and large) and adjust to changing priorities
  • Strong project management skills – experience managing multiple projects at various stages in the product design life cycle
  • Experience running, recruiting, moderating and analysis of online panels and thinking strategically about their application
  • Proficient in Powerpoint , Outlook, Word and other MS Office software

Responsibilities

  • Take the lead in the Owned Brands space as you conduct and synthesize qualitative and quantitative research projects, such as: in person and remote moderated & unmoderated testing, surveys, heuristic reviews, benchmark studies, concept testing, online & in-store intercepts, ethnographies,
  • Utilize both quantitative and qualitative research methods and know when to use one or the other
  • Support product teams (product managers, product designers, engineering) throughout the research project life cycle – recommending appropriate methodology , scoping, and coordinating the entire process, facilitating in-field research and post-research synthesis through analysis
  • Assist the broader UX Research team in keeping our ongoing research library up-to-date and comprehensive
  • Contribute to a culture of human-centered practice within UX, product, and engineering teams
  • Navigate complexity and ambiguity delivering impact for guests , team members, and the business
