Cosm•Los Angeles, CA
•$150,000 - $175,000

About The Position

Cosm’s Product Design team is seeking a senior UX product designer to shape internal tools and B2B backend applications that teams use to operate its venues. The role calls for strong UX and information-architecture skills, product thinking, and the ability to untangle complex workflows and systems. The designer will assess Cosm’s existing tools and information architecture, identify opportunities to improve them, and guide the direction of the products from strategy through polished, production-ready interfaces. The designer will own work end to end, partner closely with product managers, engineers, and data teams, and use AI tools and prototyping to build and validate ideas. The role also includes presenting design decisions to stakeholders, mentoring other designers, and contributing to a culture of empathetic communication and high craft.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of technical product design experience in software, with a track record of shaping complex products; experience with tools, operations, or B2B applications is ideal.
  • Deep UX and information-architecture skills, including untangling workflows, rethinking information hierarchies, and designing scalable systems.
  • Strong product thinking and ability to discuss strategy, tradeoffs, and prioritization.
  • Experience shipping work with AI tools and using them as a creative and technical accelerator.
  • Experience maintaining or contributing to a design system used across multiple product surfaces.
  • A portfolio demonstrating systems thinking, end-to-end ownership, and work in fast-paced product organizations.
  • High proficiency in Figma and willingness to adopt tools and technologies when they improve the work.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including explaining complex systems clearly.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience, in design, HCI, or a related field.
  • Must be at least 18 years old at the time of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive design direction for internal and B2B backend tools, from information architecture and system design through production-ready interfaces.
  • Audit and organize the existing backend toolset, map relationships among features, workflows, and systems, and identify opportunities for consolidation, clarity, and restructuring.
  • Use AI tools and prototyping to build and validate ideas, including hands-on work in production.
  • Lead features end to end by partnering with product managers and engineers to gather requirements, frame problems, iterate on solutions, and deliver organized, well-documented work.
  • Maintain a high bar for the UX of every tool, making each feel considered and purposeful.
  • Own the full arc of design work from strategy to implementation, using independent judgment to move concepts forward.
  • Present and defend design decisions to stakeholders, grounding the rationale in user needs and business impact.
  • Collaborate with engineering and data teams to make complex, high-density information legible and actionable through interface design.
  • Mentor other designers with direct, constructive feedback that raises work quality.
  • Foster honest, empathetic communication and high craft.
