About The Position

Under general supervision, this position provides maintenance and repair support for stormwater operations. The posted pay range is the starting salary, and the pay rate offered is based on experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Two (2) years of experience as a utility services worker or in a similar position is required.
Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with tanker endorsement or ability to obtain prior to employment.
Possession of, or ability to obtain within one (1) year of employment, Water Class D license issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
Completion of, or ability to complete within one (1) year of employment, the following courses provided by Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX): Work Zone Traffic Control, Flaggers in Work Zones, Introduction to Backhoe Operation, and Skid Steer Operator.
This position may require you to have or acquire a commercial driver's license (CDL).
Federal law requires all CDL holders register with the USDOT Clearinghouse before operating a commercial vehicle.
You will be required to enroll in the clearinghouse and sign a consent form allowing the City to run your name through the clearinghouse as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Provides technical support in consultation with crew leaders on site plans, utility reviews, and locations.
Performs inspections.
Ensures an adequate supply of inventories of all parts and equipment.
Transports equipment and sets up safety zones.
Instructs staff for job preparation.
Fixes problems and handles maintenance.
Cleans up tools, job sites, and safety equipment.
Checks and maintains equipment, to include fueling.
Restocks inventory, parts, and supplies.
Monitors completion of daily assignments.
Assists crew leader with administrative duties.
