About The Position

STV is seeking a Senior Utility Coordinator for its Carolinas Utility Coordination Practice, to be based out of the Raleigh or Charlotte, North Carolina, offices. This position requires utility coordination experience specifically for roadway and bridge replacement projects. STV is expanding within the utility industry and is looking for a self-motivated, energetic individual to join this high-paced environment. The role involves providing support for QA/QC packages, monitoring and driving project progress, serving as a task leader for utility coordination on projects, developing utility coordination project deliverables, running utility coordination meetings, and mentoring junior staff. The coordinator will be responsible for meeting and managing multiple utilities throughout North Carolina, identifying and resolving potential utility conflicts due to roadway/bridge improvements, commenting on schedules, and summarizing findings for clients. This requires knowledge of construction methods for both utilities and infrastructure contractors. The successful candidate will lead utility coordination on multiple statewide projects, and be responsible for training, mentoring, and monitoring junior-level coordinators. Additionally, this person will assist the regional head of utility coordination with project staffing, budgets, schedules, business development, and client interactions. The role requires self-motivation, a willingness to travel (20%), and the ability to manage schedules and budgets. Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of civil engineering or utility coordination experience
  • 2-year associate’s degree + 5 years of utility coordination experience as a minimum
  • Competency in NCDOT plan reading
  • Self-motivated
  • Willingness to travel (20%)
  • Ability to manage schedule and budgets

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with NCDOT and/or a similar agency
  • Extensive knowledge with the whole process of utility coordination from design to construction
  • Knowledge of construction methods for both the utilities as well as the infrastructure contractor
  • A four-year bachelor's degree
  • Experience with MicroStation/Geopak/Inroads and/or Civil 3D/AutoCAD
