Under general supervision, plans, organizes, coordinates, and participates in the operation, maintenance, repair, and construction activities associated with the City’s water systems; provides technical and functional supervision to assigned utilities maintenance staff; oversees emergency response and troubleshooting activities involving utilities infrastructure and equipment; coordinates special projects, contractor activities, and system improvements; operates and utilizes SCADA and computerized maintenance management systems; ensures compliance with safety practices, regulations, and operational standards; and performs related duties as required. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and results-driven leader with strong technical expertise in water distribution, wastewater collection, stormwater systems, electrical and mechanical systems, SCADA/CMMS, capital improvements, and regulatory compliance. They have a proven ability to plan, organize, and oversee complex operations and maintenance programs while effectively prioritizing work, managing multiple projects, and ensuring timely, cost-effective results. The successful candidate excels at developing and leading high-performing teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement, and using data-driven decision-making to optimize operations, track performance, and support organizational goals.
