About The Position

As UX Designers at Riot, we are responsible for design work in high-scope product areas that are complex and ambiguous. Our work includes end-to-end experience design for both players and internal customers, often spanning multiple features and teams. We work from concept through development, participate in agile product development, and partner closely with Visual Design, Research, Product, and Engineering to achieve our goals. As a Senior User Experience Designer on the Publishing Platform Esports team, you’ll design and deliver core esports experiences that connect players and fans to Riot’s competitive ecosystem. You will focus on end-to-end UX for Riot’s esports owned-and-operated sites, as well as how esports content and features are experienced across the broader Riot ecosystem.In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing scalable, high-impact fan experiences such as Pick’Em and Crystal Ball across all Riot esports. You’ll partner closely with Product, Engineering, Research, and Visual Design to translate complex requirements into clear, intuitive experiences that support both near-term product delivery and long-term ecosystem growth.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience designing digital experiences, products, and platforms as a User Experience Designer or Interaction Designer
  • Proficient with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch or other industry-standard design and prototyping tools
  • Experience designing and releasing consumer web experiences (responsive desktop + mobile)
  • A professional portfolio with examples of your past work.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Figma
  • Familiarity with or experience designing web experiences for eCommerce, creator platforms, progression systems, or the entertainment industry (movies, TV, video games, music, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Leading UX design across multiple fan-focused workstreams, focusing on user flows and interaction design
  • Synthesizing Riot’s existing body of player knowledge and insights from Design, Research, and customer support to shape experience principles, define opportunity spaces, and guide product investment
  • Mentoring early career designers as an active member of Riot UX
  • Partnering with Research to plan and execute customer outreach, or orchestrating your own customer outreach activities
  • Delivering appropriate level of design artifacts for the team (e.g. strategy, research results, journey maps, flows, wireframes, and/or prototypes)
  • Communicating data-informed vision and design rationale to drive shared alignment and collaboration across teams and stakeholders
  • Actively participating in the Riot UX community, seeking and providing feedback on your work and processes
