About The Position

Domestic & General is growing fast across 12 countries, protecting the appliances that keep households running and cutting waste by extending product life. Recognised by Great Place to Work and the Inclusive Employers Standard, we’re building a modern, inclusive culture—and we’re looking for a Senior Underwriting Analyst to drive the profitability of our policies across a number of key accounts. As a Senior Underwriting Analyst, you will drive the profitability of our warranty portfolio across several major accounts. You will forecast and manage performance for both new and existing warranty lines spanning corporate and consumer products, directly influencing the organisation’s growth. Working within a fast‑growing, dynamic environment, you will play a key role in ensuring our warranty business consistently exceeds internal targets and delivers sustained, profitable results. This role can be based from either of our US offices or our Wimbledon Head Office, in London. If the role is UK based it will involve occasional work in line with US hours but a pragmatic and flexible approach to managing will be followed.

Requirements

  • Experience in a commercially focused underwriting or analytical role
  • Numerate degree (UK 2:1 / US GPA 3.3+) or equivalent
  • Strong grasp of financial modelling, forecasting, and pricing fundamentals
  • Advanced analytical skills with large datasets, using Excel
  • Proficiency in data analysis/mining tools
  • Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Effective stakeholder management and influencing skills

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of extended warranty products (advantageous but not essential)
  • Experience with SQL, Jira, Power BI (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Supporting delivery of strategic Underwriting objectives within the FY27 OKRs
  • Producing profitability and pricing projections for new and existing products, and providing rating and proposition rules to client‑facing teams
  • Leading regular modelling and reporting of underwriting performance, recommending actions in response to emerging trends
  • Contributing underwriting inputs to financial forecasts, including annual budgets and interim reforecasts
  • Setting pricing structures that ensure products meet cost and margin targets through accurate costing and modelling
  • Conducting advanced data analysis (SQL, Excel, Power BI) to identify trends and inform recommendations
  • Ensuring compliance with data governance and quality standards
  • Driving process improvements through automation and enhanced analytics
