About The Position

The Senior Underwriter is a key member of the underwriting team reporting to the Regional Underwriting Manager. The primary goal of this position is to profitably grow a book of business by actively partnering with Agents and working effectively with colleagues throughout the organization. This person will plan and budget for the book of business, develop and maintain agency relationships, and execute underwriting decisions.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience underwriting, preferably in the high net worth space.
Comfortable owning a book of business.
Direct, empathetic communication skills.
Ability to gather and analyze all the data needed to make a decision on a risk.
Pride and determination in work.
Current P&C and E&S broker licenses preferred, must obtain within first 45 and 60 days of hire respectively if you don’t already possess them.

Responsibilities

Reviewing your book of business, tracking performance, and analyzing market conditions and competition.
Building and managing broker relationships, developing goals and strategies, and collaborating to craft tailored solutions for members.
Oversee new and renewal underwriting, select risks per company guidelines, and ensure timely follow-up and closing of accounts.
