The Non-QM Underwriter is responsible for underwriting and maintaining a pipeline while communicating with internal and external parties. Ensure documentation is accurate and compliant. The Non-QM Underwriter will be the main point of contact for credit conditions of the post-close pipeline. Maintains extensive guideline and product knowledge of all Non-QM lending while assisting with questions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of mortgage underwriting experience.
  • Experience with Non-QM Post-Close credit and manual underwriting.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Time management, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word

Nice To Haves

  • Encompass LOS experience, a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Underwrite Non-QM products, including but not limited to Bank Statement Programs, DSCR, Asset Depletion, Foreign National, and Self-Employment.
  • Main point of contact for Non-QM post close credit pipeline.
  • Maintain an underwriting pipeline of new loans and resubmissions that meet standard service level agreements.
  • Evaluate and examine loan files to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with investor and internal guidelines to issue loan decisions.
  • Communicate with operations, sales, business partners, maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Collaborate with the post-closing department on any stipulations for closed files
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Participate in special projects and handle other duties as assigned by management
