This position offers the opportunity to apply and expand knowledge of underground transmission line engineering, including routing, duct bank configurations, manhole placement, and electrical principles. The role involves designing underground transmission lines for voltages up to 500kV, responsible for cost analyses, development of design criteria, siting and routing challenges, and manhole placement. Responsibilities include physical design such as duct bank layouts, trenchless designs, cable pulling calculations, and development of drawing packages. The engineer will also be responsible for cable selection studies, determining bonding schemes, performing ampacity calculations, developing riser structure configurations and structural loading, and creating specifications for cable procurement, duct bank installation, trenchless installation, and general construction. The role requires working and coordinating with vendors and clients to specify transmission line components and directing a small project team of engineers, designers, and drafters. This position is based on a hybrid work schedule, requiring three days per week in the office.
