Requirements

  • B.S. in Accounting with CPA, with understanding of both tax and GAAP accounting.
  • Real Estate accounting experience with very strong technical background in partnership, job cost and operational accounting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Must be a self-starter, flexible and proactively drive results.
  • Strong multi-tasking, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of accounting software; MRI experience preferred.
  • High levels of integrity, work ethic, and dependability.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely completion of Trust and Master entities financial statements, capital calls and cash flow.
  • Maintain Trust and Master entities books and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Compute, allocate and track intercompany revenues, expenses and notes.
  • Assist Enterprise Controller to prepare Trust financial statements.
  • Prepare tax workpapers.
  • Understand and reconcile book vs. tax accounting issues with Tax and Accounting teams.
  • Assist tax team with tracking/recording state and federal income tax liabilities/refunds and payments.
  • Interface with Enterprise Controller and other team members to ensure proper accounting for ownership changes, financings, acquisitions, dispositions, recording 1031 exchanges and other complex transactions.
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service to all Internal and External Clients.
