About The Position
Cowan is seeking a Senior Truck Dispatcher in Burlington to oversee owner-operator truck drivers and ensure customer freight is successfully delivered. The Senior Truck Dispatcher will serve as the primary point of contact for owner-operators and provide coaching to them on service performance, fleet utilization and on-time deliveries.
Requirements
- Associate degree in a relevant field.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Address safety and performance concerns with owner-operators and provide resources for problem resolution.
- Ensure owner-operators are compliant with DOT regulations and requirements.
- Confirm freight is dispatched and delivered on time, and communicate with the customer if there are delays.
- Address concerns from customers and escalate issues when needed.
- Be responsible for documentation related to driver pay and customer invoices.
- Perform regular performance reviews and identify areas of opportunity for improvement.
- Ensure equipment utilization is optimized.
