About The Position

Join the legal frontline and champion the defense for both Allstate and its insureds across the Dallas–Fort Worth area. As a Senior Trial Attorney, you will independently manage a litigation-heavy caseload focused on first-party property matters, including homeowner and weather-related claims, along with broader insurance defense exposures. This role involves frequent court advocacy, depositions, mediations, and motion practice. Beyond litigation, you’ll serve as a trusted legal advisor to business partners and help drive consistent legal strategy within a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Requirements

  • Active membership in good standing with the Texas State Bar required
  • Juris Doctor required
  • Successful candidates will obtain Northern and/or Eastern District of Texas federal licensure as soon as is practical
  • 4+ years of litigation experience with demonstrated ability to independently manage cases from inception to resolution
  • Prior experience handling first-party property, homeowner, or weather-related claims strongly preferred
  • Background in insurance defense and litigation strategy development
  • Proven experience with depositions, motion practice, and court appearances
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage a litigation-focused caseload with minimal supervision
  • Effective communication skills and ability to partner with business stakeholders
  • Must be able to support court appearances throughout the DFW area

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage all aspects of insurance defense litigation from inception through resolution, including case strategy, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, and trial
  • Represent Allstate and insureds in first-party property matters, including homeowner and weather-related claims, as well as related liability exposures
  • Prepare and argue substantive legal pleadings, including motions, discovery responses, and case strategy documents
  • Conduct and defend depositions, attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
  • Provide strategic legal guidance to claims partners and internal stakeholders on case handling and risk exposure
  • Gather, evaluate, and organize case materials, evidence, and documentation in support of litigation strategy
  • Collaborate with paralegals and legal support staff while maintaining primary ownership of a caseload
  • Maintain knowledge of Texas statutes, case law, and regulatory changes impacting property and insurance defense litigation
