About The Position

Strategic Legal Practices is seeking a full-time tenacious and perceptive Trial Attorney to join our rapidly expanding team. The ideal candidate should have experience supervising a team of attorneys and be licensed (and in good standing) in California with two or more years of experience in directly managing civil litigation in both State and Federal courts, inclusive of sophisticated law and motion work.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • 4-5 Years Trial Experience
  • 5-10 First Chair Jury Trials
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, prioritization and time management skills, along with the ability to work under tight deadlines and execute efficiently against multiple, high-priority and high-volume projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superior drafting, and writing skills, as well as having the interest to analyze legal issues with a solution based mindset.
  • Have a high degree of self-accountability and ownership.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with judges, attorneys, staff, and clients.
  • Enthusiasm for developing skills and experience alongside an evolving business with innovative ideas.
  • Experience with and adaptability to new technology and software application systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead pre-trial preparation and trial strategy.
  • Delegate and supervise assignments for junior attorneys and staff.
  • Take and defend depositions of parties, experts, and witnesses.
  • Argue substantive motions in court.
  • Independently manage and litigate a full case docket.
  • Prepare litigation reports and risk assessments for clients and leadership.
  • Engage in discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
  • Examine and cross-examine witnesses at trial; respond to evidentiary objections.
  • Attend and lead hearings, mediations, and other proceedings.
  • Negotiate settlements leveraging deep case knowledge.
  • Prepare, argue, and litigate a diverse roster of cases through trial.
  • Provide strategic legal advice and complex case analysis.
