About The Position

Braun Intertec is seeking an experienced lead Construction Materials Technician to join their team. This is a traveling position working on large commercial and industrial projects throughout their geographic footprint. The ideal candidate is dependable, flexible, enjoys being part of and leading a team, and possesses strong initiative and self-motivation. This role involves performing routine to complex inspection and testing of construction materials in the field to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications.

Requirements

• A valid driver's license and a good driving history
• Ability to travel extensively, will work at projects sites throughout the US
• Willingness to work long hours and weekends as required
• Technical expertise in electronic field data collection
• Excellent plan reading skills
• High attention to detail
• Understanding and experience with performing Special Inspections
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• High School diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years of construction materials testing and observation experience
• ICC Soils Special Inspector certification
• ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector certification
• ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector certification
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician I certification

• Previous large commercial or industrial project experience
• iPad experience
• ACI Concrete Strength I certification
• ICC Pre-stressed Concrete Special Inspector certification
• Nuclear Gauge / Radiation Safety certification

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and observations on large commercial and industrial construction projects
• Prepare daily reports on observation activities
• Review observation and test data for accuracy and completeness
• Assist with training and mentoring of junior staff as needed
• Lead a team of technicians on large projects
• Work with project engineers and clients to ensure that client specifications are followed
