About The Position

The Senior Travel Liaison, Vendor Relations, is responsible for leading advanced travel coordination for faculty and Academic Operations collaborators in partnership with the organization’s travel vendor. This role manages complex itineraries, resolves escalated issues, and ensures seamless travel experiences that directly support experiential learning placement outcomes. The Travel Liaison III also supports function-wide process improvement, contributes to cross-department initiatives, and serves as a mentor for Travel Liaisons I and II.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a two-year degree or certification from an accredited institution, or equivalent professional experience, is required.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in travel coordination, vendor management, or a related role is preferred.
  • Proven track record of handling escalated issues and providing solutions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, and CRM systems is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Independently coordinate and oversee complex or multi-leg faculty travel arrangements, ensuring compliance with policies and alignment with placement needs.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for escalated travel concerns, working directly with the travel vendor and stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to Travel Liaisons I and II, ensuring consistency in processes and communication.
  • Lead territory opening assessments for high-priority or high-volume areas, developing comprehensive recommendations for accommodations and logistics.
  • Oversee and maintain cross-functional dashboards, ensuring accurate, real-time reporting for leadership and after-hours staff.
  • Collaborate with leadership on the design and implementation of functional projects, SOP improvements, and technology integration.
  • Ensure all communications and actions are documented in CRM systems within established timelines.
  • Represent the Vendor Relations function in cross-departmental meetings and initiatives.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support urgent travel needs and provide after-hours issue resolution.
