Senior Transportation Specialist - Logistics (Corporate 412 West)
About The Position
This role is for a Sr Specialist of Transportation in the Project Management and Implementation space. The individual will be empowered to make a difference in the lives of Tyson team members every day. They will have the opportunity to network and influence a variety of roles inside Tyson while defining and overseeing project timelines, requirements, and final implementations. The ideal candidate has a growth mindset, seeks to understand industry leading standards, has a passion for working with others, is comfortable working through ambiguity and leading others through it to make a positive difference, possesses an in-depth knowledge of Project Management, has superb communication skills both verbal and written, a strong ability to define business processes and relate them to necessary technical functions, and is a driven self-starter that can work independently but also facilitate coordinated efforts with others.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, and SharePoint.
- Knowledge of Blue Yonder or other industry TMS systems, SAP, and other Transportation specific applications a bonus.
- A general understanding of software development lifecycle and key milestones.
- Excellent written and verbal communication to both internal leadership and third party vendors/contractors providing statuses of systems and updates in new software research and overall project facilitation.
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical team members.
- Creative thinking skills are critically important.
- Ability to thrive in both Waterfall and Agile project methodologies.
- Some travel may be required. Amount of travel will be determined by individual project requirements.

Responsibilities
- Understanding current business strategies and roadmaps and evaluating existing or new technologies to address these needs
- Conduct RFP’s from various vendors to determine best fit for Tyson and present recommendations to leadership
- Work with various Program Managers, Directors, and Sr Leadership to define and analyze business requirements
- Coordinate with cross functional teams to build out project plans and timelines for introductions of new systems or processes
- Ensure all project objectives are met and on time/budget
- Own and prioritize various backlogs
- Work alongside training team to onboard users to new systems or incorporate new processes
- Inform and ensure KPIs are defined and adhered to throughout the entirety of a program
